Course Description

This SQL programming course teaches students relational database fundamentals and SQL programming skills. Topics covered include relational database architecture, database design techniques, and simple and complex query skills. This SQL developer training class is intended for analysts, developers, designers, administrators, and managers who need to exploit the power of the SQL programming language. Upon completion, participants will understand SQL functions, join techniques, database objects and constraints, and will be able to write advanced SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements. Comprehensive hands on exercises are integrated throughout this SQL programming class to reinforce learning and develop real competency.

Students who require coverage of Microsoft-specific features including T-SQL data types, stored procedure enhancements, intrinsic functions, T-SQL cursors and table-valued functions should attend the Microsoft Transact-SQL Programming course rather than this course.

Course Prerequisites

General computer knowledge is required to learn SQL.

Testimonials

We went with remote attendance and I believe it was the best class I have ever taken! Everything from receiving the equipment to attending the Fairfax, VA in class room class remotely was easy, non-stressful, and enjoyable. I was new to the course material as I had little experience in SQL. The course was easy to follow and learn the concepts then apply them in the lab work. The lab work had the most value for me because you were able to actually apply the concepts you were reading about. Lastly the remote course felt like we were there in the classroom. I will definitely keep HOTT in mind for any future training needed.

I thought the class was very well done. I especially appreciated the hands on labs using computers. It was beneficial to see the code actually execute. Hands on training is the only way to learn SQL.

This was the best SQL class I have been to. The instructor did an excellent job. He presented the material in a way that ensured everyone in the class was following along. I thought the learning material was well designed. I would recommend this class to my peers.
